I’m still sewing some of my stuff. Let’s hope I get this all done.
I’m bringing a version of Len, but haven’t decided which yet, so I’ll edit later adding Len in when I decide.

I was happy to wear Makoto again and with my new wig. Still working on my ahoges. I haven’t made a set that I’m happy with yet, so I keep restarting and ragequitting. I’ll finish them eventually. lolz

Something I can take away from my weekend with Sakura Matsuri

Besides the experience of doing the fashion show, which honestly was surprisingly a lot of fun considering I was kinda sorta really dreading it at first.

This will be in regards to prep time.

Where it takes me about 10-15 minutes to do my make up when I’m cosplaying a boy it takes me an hour to do make up for a girl.

IDK why, but getting ready make up wise this weekend was an extremely long process, which I’m not really used to. Usually I’m done within a half and hour and ready to go, but it was pretty painful with how slow I went getting ready.

And it’s not like I haven’t cosplayed girls before and not done makeup. I’ve done it a number of times, but IDK maybe I’m doing something different without realizing it. Or taking more care to how I look as a girl.

Well whatever it is, I’m glad the prep took so long for something like Sakura Matsuri where you don’t miss much if you go super late. Not many people were here this year which made for a really slow event for me.

But I mean, it was fun regardless. And it’s not like I paid to get in so whatevs. lolz

Fanime Cosplay Plans

I know I made a post about plans before, but there’s a lot less maybes, and it’s more concrete of what’s going on, so I thought I would post about it again.

Just about everything is gonna be new. A couple things I don’t plan on fully finishing in time for Fanime due to the time constraints of making things, but I’m super excited to do these things with people, and it’ll be a while until I can do them again with them, o rather wear some half done cosplays then not do it at all.

I would make Jet so proud. She kinda gave me that look at Katsu when she saw I didn’t cut on the bias for my trimming for Taiwan. I’m just generally a really lazy cosplayer. This is why when people tell me I’m good I want to laugh at them. Welp.

But I cut on the bias and made legit bias tape this time!

But this is for Yosuke’s undershirt. Yep. Now to sew this bad boy down onto my shirt. Then we can saw I got some progress on Yosuke besides you know, cutting fabric I’m yet to sew. XDDDDDDD

Working on Hopper Street again.
I’ve been super lazy with cosplay lately. Time to get back in the groove ‘cuz Fanime is coming up, and so much work to do. Oh boy.

I’m trying to get at the very least the vast majority of Hopper Street out of the way by of this week. So I can focus fully on Persona and Dog Days before tackling my other Fanime projects. *A*

Buuuuh, so many things wrong with my wig, but whatever.
Grin and bear it for now, me and Nora finally had some form of HetaOni shoot, which is something we’ve wanted for over a year now. I’m super excited to when we have our full group shoot. *A*

Pretty bad lighting, but I bought fabric today!

So Pirate!England has been on my cosplay list for like 3 years. I started it like two years ago, didn’t like where it was going, scrapped it, started it a bit more again, didn’t like where that was going either, scrapped again, and now I’m at it again ‘cuz Sierra has me motivated to do this with her at Fanime with her Portugal.

This cosplay is something I’m so emotionally invested in, and I really hope I don’t end up scrapping my progress yet again. I wanna actually finish this cosplay. *A*

So yeah, this cosplay means a lot to me. As one of my dream cosplays I am avoiding taking any shortcuts, and trying to make it one of the best cosplays I can make given my skill level at the moment.

First off, I decided I am going to remake my shirt for Pirate!England and make it out of linen this time. It was on sale for $4 a yard in one store. Score! And then I saw this pretty gold fabric for $8.

I have been looking for something nice to use for the vest for over a year. I’ve been very picky with what to use for Pirate!England. I’m glad I finally settled on this. I think the crosses are a nice touch considering the religious presence of countries back in the day. I do wanna line the vest and possibly interface it to stiffen it up a bit since it’s a bit light. But we’ll see about the interfacing after lining the fabric.

Now some Madoka fabric was acquired. Let me tell you this pink is the hardest thing to find in bridal satin, and we did find something pretty close, but upon putting the pink in comparison on my skin I was afraid wearing that color was gonna make me look washed out, so I went with something a tad darker. Also got the yellow creme color too. Yeah.

So I spent more than I wanted to today. I wasn’t intending to even buy this much. I didn’t think I was gonna really get anything at all. I still have lots more things to gather before the con. Oh man. Someone save me from this work load. *A*

Since we’re going through the issue of not remembering my email address for my cosplay tumblr right now, I suppose I’ll post this on my main blog for now, and reblog on my cosplay tumblr later when I remember that darn email :/

But here’s hopper street progress!

I hemmed the black tank I got from H&M and the white shirt I got from Michael’s. I still need to cut the top to make it a scoop neck, shorten the sleeves, and of course add in all the black trimming and deco stuff on the shirt. I’m also thinking of doubling the fabric of the shirt to make it more opaque.

But I’m slowly getting there? *A*

I definitely need to wear this on warm days.
My tummy is super cold right now. lolz

And now that I can log into my cosplay tumblr again. Here we go my Hopper Street cosplay progress from last night. I spent the entire day out with Asta, Angela, and briefly with Kat. And did cosplay shopping. Not sure how much progress will be done tonight. Tumblr to catch up on. lolz
